Step 1: Registration
To sign up for tutoring, register through our secure Web site. Alternatively, call us at 1.877.TUTOR18 (1.877.888.6718) between 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM ET, or write to us at info@tutorNEXT.com and we'll contact you in 24 hours or less.

Step 2: Initial Setup
After you are registered, please purchase the computer accessories (an electronic tablet and a high-quality headset) required for an enhanced tutoring experience. You may buy these from any major computer retailer or online store. Separately, we will email your userid and password so that you can access the tutorNEXT classroom.

Step 3: Schedules and Teacher Assignment
At the time of registration, we will ask you to choose your tutoring schedule. Many of our students take 2-3 classes a week. We recommend that you set the same days & times each week so that we may assign you a single tutor. Having the same tutor ensures that the student’s learning proceeds steadily and consistently every week. We do understand that you may need to occasionally change your schedule at short notice. Just call us 24 hours or more in advance of your class to reschedule, and we will try our best to give you the same teacher for the makeup class as well.

Step 4: Academic Assessment
Before your first class, we’ll ask you to take an assessment exercise that will allow us to pinpoint skill gaps and develop a personalized teaching plan. Your assigned teacher will then create a study plan matched to your skill level and objectives.

Step 5: Starting your Class
At the scheduled times every week, the teacher and the student will both log into the classroom to start the lesson. We ask that students log in 5 minutes before the scheduled start time so that they are ready to begin immediately when the teacher joins them. Please note that classes for which the student is late by more than 15 minutes will be cancelled. Please make sure to use your headset with microphone to make these sessions highly interactive.

Interactive Learning and Communications Tools
uses a combination of Internet-based tools to deliver highly effective one-on-one tutoring sessions. Our Web classroom technology enables students to receive a high-quality teaching experience that can surpass traditional forms of classroom teaching and home tutoring. The main elements of the tutoring experience are:

Interactive Whiteboard

Our shared interactive whiteboard allows teachers to write and explain topics as they would in a classroom setting or on a writing pad. Tutors use their electronic pen and tablet to write on the whiteboard as well as to highlight, point out, or annotate any notes for further clarification.

Interactive Web Talk

The student talks to the teacher via a high-quality headset connected to his or her computer. In our experience, we've found that many students are more comfortable with this method as compared to traditional in-person tutoring sessions.

Email

We realize that a student's need for assistance can extend beyond our tutoring classes. We therefore encourage students to email their teachers with specific questions at any time. The teacher will either reply back via email or include time in the next class to answer these questions.
