A person standing on the bank of a river, observes that the angle suspended
by a tree on the opposite bank is 60°. When he retreats 2000 feet from the bank, he finds the angle to be at 30°. Find the height of the tree and the width of the river.

            Let the height of the tree CD be 'h' feet. Let the width
            of the river 'BC' be 'x' Feet.

The stem of a tree 480 feet high, breaks during a hurricane, in such a way that it's top touches the ground and makes an angle 60° with the ground. At what height from the ground did the stem break?

            Let BC represent the tree before it broke.

                        BC = 480 Feet

Let D be the point on the stem where it breaks. Then after the breakage, AD represents DC in the unbroken state.
AD makes an angle of 60° with the ground.
